Mammoth, the band led by Wolfgang Van Halen, will professionally film their Tuesday 24 November concert at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The announcement came with the release of the very last production hold tickets for the show.
No details have been given on who will direct the shoot or how and when the footage will be released. It will be the band’s only headline show in Great Britain on this run, which supports ‘The End’, their third album, released on 24 October 2025 via BMG.
‘The End’ was recorded at 5150, the studio Eddie Van Halen built at his Los Angeles home, with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette. As on the first two records, Wolfgang wrote every song and played every instrument and sang every vocal in the studio.
Before London, Mammoth will open four U.K. arena shows for Deep Purple: Newcastle on 18 November, Glasgow on 19 November, Birmingham on 21 November and Manchester on 22 November. After Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the band heads to the island of Ireland for headline dates in Dublin on 15 December and Belfast on 16 December, a show rescheduled from June.
Live, Wolfgang, on vocals and guitar, is joined by Frank Sidoris, guitarist for Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators; Jon Jourdan on guitar and vocals; Ronnie Ficarro on bass; and Garrett Whitlock, drummer for Tremonti. It’s the touring line-up the band have used since 2021.
Mammoth have opened for Metallica, supported Foo Fighters in North America and toured with Creed. For ‘The End’ tour, they brought along Myles Kennedy, the Alter Bridge frontman, as their special guest.
Wolfgang started the project in 2015, while still playing bass in Van Halen, the band he was part of from 2007 to 2020, and made it his full-time band after his father’s death in 2020. The debut, ‘Mammoth WVH’ (2021), reached number 12 on the Billboard 200, and its single ‘Distance’ earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song. ‘Mammoth II’ (2023) debuted in the top five of Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. Classic Rock called it “a solo second that betters his debut in every department”, and American Songwriter wrote that it “reveals a closer representation of what Mammoth is now and Van Halen’s dynamism as a musician and as a writer”.
In May 2025, with the single ‘The End’, the band dropped the WVH initials and became simply Mammoth. “It’s just we didn’t have the trademark”, Wolfgang explained to KOMP 92.3. “And so now that we do, we can finally be what I’ve always wanted to be. Now it’s just official”. At a fan Q&A in Teaneck, New Jersey, he said the name was “what we wanted the whole time”. ‘The End’ hit number one on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in August 2025, and ‘The Spell’ followed it to the top; together with ‘Distance’ and ‘Don’t Back Down’, that gives the band four number ones on that chart.
In 2024, Wolfgang performed at the Academy Awards alongside Ryan Gosling, Mark Ronson and Slash, and took part in Ozzy Osbourne‘s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
